About Me

 Hi! My name is Kelly and I am extremely excited to have graduated from the University of North Texas. I completed my student teaching in the Frisco Independent School District and I loved every minute of it! I have been extremely blessed with two wonderfully talented mentors who have helped me become an amazing teaching. The first seven weeks of the semester were spent in Kindergarten. I have completely fallen in love with this age group and can see myself teaching kindergarten in the future. The next seven weeks were spent in fourth grade teaching writing, math and science. I'm excited to see how teaching this age group will play out. I have a strong passion for children and teaching which makes my job fun and not like work at all.

Let me tell you a few things about myself. I come from a long line educators, some of which have gone on to work with the superintendent and others have taught in foreign countries. As a child I moved around a lot, attending seven different schools before high school and living in three different states (Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana). My parents now reside in Rhode Island (the Ocean State) with the most beautiful cliffs I've ever seen. I have a younger sister who will be graduating with a RN BSN next December from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge. I also have a younger brother who is double majoring in Petroleum Engineering and Sports Administration from LSU. My entire family (except my sister and I) have graduated from LSU, making us big SEC fans. When I'm not studing I enjoy volunteering at St. Jude's Children Hospital. Spending time with those children is truly a blessing and I always look forward to their visits. Doing philanthropic work is a strong passion of mine. I have held numerous positions in my sorority where I was in charge of organizing philanthropy opportunities and raised money for St. Jude's.
